~ TOUCH OF FIFTY-ONE YEARS ~

Remember the first time I saw you,
my friend made you a bet.
That you wouldn't give me a kiss
you have that five bucks yet.

Remember then.

And the first time we made love,
I remember that night yet.
Next to a large road grader,
That's a night I'll not forget,

Remember then.

Also each time a child was born,
put you in a state of bliss.
And me, I woke up each morning,
case of morning sickness.

Remember then.

Friday Doc.said you had Cancer,
our hearts about to break.
Then called on Monday morning,
said that he made a mistake.

Remember then.

When we went to Washington D.C.
saw the unknown soldiers grave.
and watched the guards protecting,
the ones that died so brave.

Remember then.

The beautiful homes that we owned,
The business that we had.
All the things that we have tackled,
some good and others bad.

Remember them.

Babe, could keep going on for hours,
with all we have seen and done,
but guess the best part of our lives,
was when our kids were young.

Remember then.

We've had a lot of years together
. and some were pretty hard.
Managed to get through them all,
with much help from our Lord.

Sweetheart, I still Love You
