Man, Talking to God
The old man walked out to his porch to sit,
large glass of tea and a very big smile.
Raised his head toward Heaven, and asked,
Lord please come abide with me awhile.
Lord you've been around much longer then I,
time you have a glass of tea, and rest.
Maybe with your help getting to Heaven,
I'll know more on giving you my best.
Could also help my Wife and Family to know,
what they will need to be by your side.
Things not easy as some may be thinking,
Lord as you know all my life I've tried.
We're taught we'll get to heaven by Grace,
and I've been told that Grace is Love.
Will be trying hard to live by Grace alone,
then abide with you in Heaven above.
So if you will Lord come abide with me,
I ask just that you sit here by my side.
For each day, working to get to Heaven,
and each day, we seem to slide.
" Lord Abide with me"
